Infrared/Thermal Imaging

Residential Thermal Inspections

A residential thermal imaging inspection is a non-invasive technique that uses thermal imaging cameras to detect temperature variations and identify areas of energy loss in a home. This inspection can help homeowners identify areas of concern such as air leaks, insulation issues, and electrical problems. By identifying and addressing these issues, homeowners can save money on their energy bills and improve the comfort of their homes.

Commercial thermal imaging inspection is a non-destructive testing method that uses infrared cameras to detect and analyze temperature variations in commercial buildings, facilities, electrical, mechanical, HVAC systems, and equipment. This technology allows for early detection of potential issues, such as electrical faults, air leaks, and insulation problems, which can prevent costly damage and downtime. By conducting regular thermal imaging inspections, businesses can ensure the safety, efficiency, and longevity of their assets while minimizing their energy costs and environmental impact.

Why Infrared/Thermal Imaging is so Important?

An infrared/thermal image is a non-invasive method of identifying and documenting the condition of the system. Some common things that infrared imaging can help an inspector find are: moisture within walls, insulation or other building materials may indicate leaking pipes, condensation issues, and other problems leading to corrosion, mold, or mildew.

 Infrared Helps Identify:

  • Overloaded circuit breakers

  • Overheated electrical components

  • Missing insulation

  • Disconnected or damage ductwork

  • Improper seals from windows, doors, floors, ventilation

Helps Identify Moisture Issues From:

  • Plumbing systems

  • Roof covering materials

  • Holes in the exterior of the home

  • Siding materials

  • A/C leaks

The Bottom Line

Infrared cameras are the only proven nondestructive method for identifying moisture and energy loss. Infrared inspections save building owners thousands of dollars by pinpointing problem areas before they are visible and more costly to repair. Proactive routine infrared inspections are a tremendous predictive, cost-savings tool.

Qualifications

Our inspectors are Certified Residential Thermographers by Monroe Infrared. We use the HIKMicro M30 Infrared Cameras with a resolution of 320x240 and a refresh rate of 24hz. Our cameras and inspectors are more than capable of performing a residential inspection.
